Dr. Brian Leung, Ph.D.
Professor, Opportunity Schools External Evaluator

Brian, a licensed Educational Psychologist, is currently the director of the school psychology program at Loyola Marymount University.  He has practiced as a school psychologist in both urban and suburban schools in California, as well as having worked briefly for the California Department of Education.  He is active in leadership positions in both state and national organizations in school psychology.  His research interests are in program evaluation, assessment, and mental health issues for school-aged student populations.

Brian has been evaluator for a number of programs, i.e. literacy, after school, early childhood development, and community health promotion.  Brian serves Opportunity Schools as our External Evaluator helping to objectively determine the effectiveness of our Opportunity Program

Brian holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC), an M.S. in Counseling from California State University, Long Beach; a B.S. in Psychology from USC; and an A.A. in General Education from Pasadena City College.

Other credentials include:  Clear Pupil Personnel Services (School Psychology); Clear Pupil Personnel Services (School Counseling); Professional Administrative Services; Community College Instructor (Psychology); and Community College Counselor.

He has written numerous articles in professional journals, and is a sought-after presenter at educational conferences and seminars.
